WODYS have a membership in excess of 70 youngsters, aged 8 to 18. In addition, there is a waiting list for people to join. Each year auditions are held, where successful applicants become members.
Once a member, youngsters automatically qualify to be in the next production, which is usually held during the first week of August at the Swan Theatre, Worcester.
During rehearsals, youngsters are taught stagecraft by an experienced team of volunteers. Also, for 8-10 weeks of the year, workshops are held, where professional mentors are employed to develop theatre skills.
There is also an opportunity for members to belong to the "Cabaret Group", comprising of members who volunteer to participate in a annually produced cabaret. Performances are given to local nursing homes and sheltered housing associations.
WODYS are proud of the donations that they have made to local charities over the years. All proceeds from a raffle held during show week are given to charity. Normally, this is a local charity that is associated with youngsters.
